swag is in the house

I picked up all my marketing "loot" today at First Step Print Shop in Underhill (VT's only union print shop). Somehow, having the promotional materials in hand (with my name writ large) makes the decision to run for the Vermont House of Representatives all the more real and electrifying!

Vermont's primary election is only two weeks away on Aug. 14.  Though I do not have a contested race in the Democratic primary, I still want and need your vote. So, if you reside in my district - Chittenden 8-1 - make sure you vote at Essex Middle School, 60 Founders Road, on Tuesday, Aug. 14, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.  Here's an early look at the Democratic, Republican and Progressive ballots for your viewing pleasure!

Remember, you can vote early too. Stop in at the Town Clerk's office before Primary Election Day (81 Main St., Essex Junction; 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) and cast your ballot. Or have the ballot mailed to you in advance; here's the form to request it.

And the beauty of our Great State is that you can even register to vote on Primary Election Day! You'll need to do so at the Town Clerk's office first before heading over to the polls.

The political turmoil of the past few years reminds me that exercising my voice via my vote has never been more important. I encourage each of you to recommit to participating in all local, state and federal elections so that informed and engaged voters are powering our democracy truly.

Please look for me at Essex Middle School on Primary Election Day, Aug. 14. I'll be "camped out" along the sidewalk greeting voters and enjoying the excitement of my first-ever run for public office - see you soon!
